Depending if you live close to the clinics or super school area another option is a local coach. I also have been bowling for a long time over 30 years.
I never wanted to deal with an individual for a coach and was looking for a bowling clinic, camp, school or seminar. I expected a one time instruction would be good enough. The same as you seem to be looking for. However, do to the location of the schools and camps and having to travel and stay over somewhere the cost for non bowling instruction was much more then I was able to do.
Although, I never did do the one time camp, school, ..etc. I did find a local certified bronze level coach (on bowl.com), not just another bowler. This was something that has worked for me. I cannot compare and would not attempt to compare the differences of either instruction. My coach is not one of the top PBA bowlers that you see in these camps and schools however, he is able to teach me the proper techniques and that's what I wanted.
The video that I had done did compare me to a PBA bowler to point out the differences and offer suggestions to becoming more consistent with my approach and delivery. All of the instruction and information I had gained from my first lesson had to be put into my routine and practiced.
I am still practicing what I have learned from that first lesson and will again have another lesson in the near future to see if I am actually doing what I think I am. Just for general information I asked three different bowlers who I practice with to tell me what they see and each one said something different. This is another reason why I will like going back to the same coach again. His eye will be focused on what he expects me to do not just picking anything, plus the next lesson or more will equal the expense of travel to the one time schools. This way I will get some follow up on what I should have learned to do correctly.
I still expect to go to one of these high profile clinics, schools to get another point of view and different eyes looking over what I am doing. I just wanted you to become aware that there are options for instruction. I was lucky to get someone who is a nice person who liked answering my thousand questions.
Whatever, you do don't be like me and think the clinic or schools are the only answer and wait another ten years as I did. For my Christmas gift to myself this year I found a local coach that has helped and that can give me more help in the future without going far distances away from home.
Read the recent write ups on clinics and schools in BTM. I found them informative and you may see one item someone reported that you like. At least the articles will make you aware of the instruction you should receive and offer a choice.
Good luck and good bowling
