youth camps

I would like to take my nephew who is 12 and bowling for 6 months to a bowling camp/clinic. He is just getting started and is averaging below 100. He doesn't have his own equipment, but seems interested in learning and improving. I could start him off on the right path, but I think he would learn better from someone trained in teaching kids. I've been to the Ritger Camps, but think this would be too much at first for him to get started. If anyone can recommend anything in the NYC area, or how to get started I would appreciate it.

I would suggest finding a good coach in the area first. I believe that someone who can work with him on a regular basis would be more beneficial than a 1 time camp. Especially since almost everything is going to be new. It is difficult to retain and apply everything at once. Check with the houses in the area that have strong youth programs. They will probably be able to recommend good coaches. (Or, I am sure the bowlers themselves will have an opinion).
