Request information

Hi,

This year I have had an abundance of bumpers join our juniors.
I have separated the group into juniors (over 8 years) and bumpers.
The youngest bumper is 2 1/2 up to 7 year olds.
They play 2 games weekly.
Recently they entered their very first State Zone Championship. Must say they took out the top 8 positions. :D

At the moment all I want them to do is have fun but these tinytots are so eager to learn more.

I have been trying to find ANY coaching information regarding bumpers.
Does anyone have material stashed away that I can use.
Any help will be a bonus..

Thank you in advance.

This is Dug Barker. My experience with Bumpers is that you should not try to teach them much except for the safety issues.

When they move out of bumpers to regular bowling, they will need lots of help. At Ken-Bowl Lanes, in Louisville, KY, we run a coaching clinic for an hour before league each week. It is open only to bowlers that bowl in the Ken-Bowl youth program and it has been VERY successful for us.

Hope this helps,

Dug Barker
