The End of the Balance Hole Era

by btmAdmin | June 30, 2020 4:34 pm

Did you know that the new USBC rule banning bowling ball weight holes comes into effect on August 1, 2020? If you still have equipment with balance holes, they will soon need to be plugged before they can be used in USBC sanctioned competition.

In some cases, plugging a balance hole can change the bowling ball’s on-lane motion, so be ready to adjust a bit the next time you use the affected equipment. It might even be necessary to completely plug and redrill some balls in order to get them back close to their original reaction. In many cases, though, plugging the balance hole will have a minimal impact on the ball’s motion. Each situation is different, so visit your local qualified pro shop professional soon to evaluate your options and to get ready for the upcoming 2020 bowling season.
