The Grudge Hybrid, a follow-up to the original Grudge from earlier this year, is the newest high performance ball from DV8. It features the same Grudge Low RG Asymmetric core design as the original, but with changes to both the coverstock and box finish. This new release uses a hybrid version of the Composite Hook coverstock. The out-of-box finish is smoother than that of the original Grudge, which had a very rough 1000 SiaAir surface prep to help it provide maximum hook on heavy oil. The Grudge Hybrid exits the box at 500/4000 SiaAir, giving it both more length and more hook at the back end of the lane.

Even with its more moderate surface finish, this ball’s best performance came on our heavy oil test pattern. 4000 SiaAir on this cover is still plenty rough enough to create traction on heavy volumes of oil. The Grudge Hybrid started hooking a few feet farther down the
