So, you’re about a month into the season…you’ve shaken off some rust, but are you still feeling a bit out of sorts? Aside from a lesson with a certified coach to diagnose a specific problem, you might just need a few reps working on some of the most critical elements of the game.

If you want to practice with a purpose, but you just want to refine your existing game, here’s a good general practice plan for all-around improvement in your technique, with a focus on swing and timing mechanics:

  • 20 minutes of swing practice, starting with standing swing drills, and then alternating drills and the full approach.
  • 20 minutes of timing practice, focusing on the ball start with drills and then alternating with full approaches.
  • 20 minutes of spare shooting, including corner pins and a game of Low Ball.
