Corner pins are often the result of too much deflection when the ball hits the pocket. Many bowlers have a favorite adjustment for those pesky corner pins, but when that doesn’t work, or if you’re not sure what to do, there are plenty of other options that can be effective, depending on your style and preferences.
Consider one of these options to reduce deflection when you need to improve your pin carry:
- Create a sharper back end reaction by using a more angular ball or by adjusting hand position.
- Use more of the headpin by hitting a little higher in the pocket.
- Change your angle by making a small adjustment with your feet, but not moving your target.
