There is immense value in debriefing a tournament with a coach, but not everyone can do this, and bowlers bowl leagues more often than tournaments. To help make the most of your league nights, here is a way to reflect on each night as you head home from the center.
Spend some time thinking about three things you’d like to do better, such as a single bad shot or a missed adjustment. Limit this to only the three items, even on bad nights where the list can be longer.
Next, reflect on at least three things you did well and are proud of. This can even be making a single pin to break a string of opens, or a strong finish to save a game.
Finally, commit to repeating the good things next week. Plan to practice the other areas, or to improve your performance of them in your next league night.
