Are you in control of whether or not you get a strike? Not really. Understanding what’s in your control versus what’s not can help bring perspective to your game.
There are plenty of things you can’t control that affect your bowling game: where everyone else is playing and the equipment they use, pins that might be off spot, the pace of play, the lane conditions themselves, and lots of other factors. Recognizing these elements that affect you and accepting that they are beyond your control will lead to a better perspective than becoming frustrated.
As a bowler, you are in control of the decisions you make, the focus you bring and where you place it, your mental game, and your execution. Your goal should be to maximize these areas and simply accept the things you can’t control.
