If seeing is believing, then being able to see yourself achieve success is an important factor in believing you can do it. With this in mind, visualization can be a key component in unlocking your potential. For best results, try to do the following:

  • Just relax: Close your eyes and use slow deep breaths to be calm and focused as you begin your visualization.
  • Add details: Include the voices of other bowlers, the smell of your bowling ball, and other details, along with your own successful execution.
  • Practice the skill: It’s not enough to simply use imagery while competing. Rehearse and practice your imagery away from the lanes or as part of an on-lane practice session so you can improve its effectiveness.
