Rest is an important part of high-level performance, but many bowlers are reluctant to take breaks. Here are some signs that you should consider taking a few weeks off, or at least easing up your schedule:

  • Injury: When minor nagging pains are affecting your day-to-day life and your performance out of the lanes, it’s time to let those wounds heal up.
  • Mental lapses: If you find yourself making more and more mental mistakes or losing your cool more often, it’s a sign that you need a mental break from the competitive grind.
  • Poor execution: When the body is physically worn out, it will be hard to execute at the proper level. Taking a complete rest or cutting back on the practice time can help the body recuperate so you can perform better when you return.
