The Hy-Wire is the latest addition to the Roto Grip HP3 family. It uses the same Middle Roll 70 core design as the Haywire, but instead of a sanded solid cover like the Haywire, the Hy-Wire uses the 62M hybrid veneer that comes out of the box at a 1500 grit polished box finish. This hybrid cover is two parts pearl to one part solid, giving it more length than other hybrids that are 50/50 blends.

Our medium pattern was first for our testers. On the fresh, they all saw the Hy-Wire go too long before making its move to the pocket. When we slowed our ball speeds down, we got it to read a little better in the midlane, but any mistakes on the fast side with our ball speed would result in the 2 pin standing. All three testers saw a dramatic improvement in their ball reactions when they gently scuffed
