The Anger Solid shares the Modified Infamous symmetrical core shape with the original Anger, and it is paired with the Semtex Solid coverstock that was last used on the Hazmat Solid. It comes out of the box at a 500/2000 SiaAir finish, giving the ball some teeth to create traction and keep it from having too much length before changing directions. We found that this ball provides a smooth arc through the entire lane as opposed to a skid/flip motion. We had the Anger Solid fit under the recently discontinued Hazmat Solid in total hook, but it was able to create enough motion for us to use it on our heavy oil test pattern because of its dull surface.

Cranker

Cranker had a slightly better reaction on the heavy oil pattern than the other two bowlers, thanks to his higher rev rate that helped him get his ball through the pins a bit better than Stroker and Tweener. He needed to reduce his speed to make sure the Anger Solid created enough traction in the midlane and didn’t slide past the breakpoint. He started straighter on this pattern with the Anger Solid compared to more aggressive balls, such as the Black Widow 3.0 and Pure Envy. The ball was smoother off the breakpoint, making it very easy to control the motion as the pattern started to break down. He could stay closer to the friction in the track area with the Anger Solid, whereas the more aggressive balls required him to move deeper with his laydown point and cover more boards. He made sure to use a shammy between shots to remove any oil from the cover, ensuring that the ball could create as much traction as possible.

Cranker had his best look with the Anger Solid on the medium oil pattern. He was able to start the ball farther left, closer to board 25 off
